It’s the weekend, friends! I’m excited to hang out with my hottie sister-in-law on Friday night, welcome my husband home from London {please don’t snow on Saturday night} and make Valentines at Spacecraft on Sunday with Remy & Alexa. In the meantime, I am daydreaming about a vintage Mercedes that would be perfect for a weekend drive. In fact, I have been for the last 8 years or so. Not in this weather of course, but summers by the shore…that sounds like a plan. Even better though – have you heard about  converting Mercedes diesel models from the late 70′s onward so that they can run off of vegetable oil? How often do classic style and sustainability align like that? Now, if only I can find the kind of seller who has a mint convertible or coupe in a California {rust free} garage and would like to sell it to a sweet gal like me for a song.

One of the highlights of my year is attending the New York Gift Fair and being inspired by the amazing talent in the Accent on Design section of the show. My first stop is usually the award winning booth by Aesthetic Movement. They are a fiercely talented bunch with a carefully curated group of brands that typically fall under the category of my all time favorite designers and products. I am lucky enough to get to work with them occasionally since I design for one of the lines that they represent. It was great to see they have added Sophie Nova to their group. I have loved her metallic poufs carried by Calypso that I featured in the Gold Gift Guide, but was not aware she also had pillows, bookends and bags in her collection. I am smitten with her soft metallics and rich leather fabrics perfect for anyone who loves a little luster like I do.

There’s something about fall that makes a girl crave a new handbag. I’ve been a fan of Linea Pelle for awhile, in particular their leather sliced bracelets. {I have this one and love it} Just recently, I checked out some of their new handbags and I am head over heels for the new Alex Zipper Speedy shown above. It would definitely require stashing a litte extra away each month in the piggy bank, but in the meantime, here are some of my other favorites from their collection.

Things are really heating up at Madewell this season. I’ve been spying some great pieces from their fall collection, and I keep adding them to my shopping cart then practically fainting at the grand total and have to jump ship and forget about it all. Today, Madewell launched their long awaited collaboration with style icon Alexa Chung, so there are even more things to put on the wishlist.

Funny enough, I ended up sitting next to Ms. Chung a couple of weeks ago at my Williamsburg nail place. She and I chose the same shade….5th avenue by Essie.

Happy Friday, and that means it’s time to party.

Brazil keeps coming up in conversations and I cannot get this beautiful house out of my mind in Arraial d’Ajuda, Northeast of Rio de Janiero. I bookmarked it a couple of years ago and really hope to get there someday. The perfect place to escape and party. Caso do Dean is the project of celebrity photographer Dean Freeman, and built by a local architect. It’s perched on a hilltop in the middle of the rain forest, yet you can easily stroll to the beach village of Arraial d’Ajuda nearby.
